Warcraft 3 Reconnection Tool for Server and Client

Managing stable Warcraft 3 sessions requires a robust infrastructure to handle network instability. The combination of GHost++ 17.0 and GProxy++ 1.0 provides a reliable framework for server-side hosting and client-side reconnection. Based on my hands-on experience deploying these tools, the key to success is ensuring the server-side bot is correctly configured before attempting client-side connections. Note that these tools are designed to mitigate technical disconnects; they are not a behavioral solution for players intentionally leaving games on platforms like Garena, as leavers typically lack the intent to rejoin.

GHost++ 17.0
Released: February 25, 2010

This is the foundational server-side software. To utilize the reconnection feature, your game must be hosted via this specific version. Version 17.0 introduced the protocol necessary for GProxy++ to handshake with the host. If you are a server operator, I recommend auditing your existing bot configurations to ensure compatibility with this release. As this is a complex networking tool, expect minor refinements as you integrate it into your environment.

GProxy++ Public Test Release 1.0
Released: March 11, 2010

GProxy++ acts as the client-side bridge. When configured correctly, it allows your Warcraft III client to survive temporary internet disruptions by attempting a reconnect to the GHost++ server every 10 seconds.

Technical Setup Tips:
  • Configuration: Upon first launch, GProxy++ generates a gproxy.cfg file. You must manually input your CD keys and Battle.net credentials here.
  • Interface: The tool runs in a console (text-only) mode to maintain cross-platform compatibility (Linux, OS X, and Windows).
  • Game Discovery: Use the /public command to view the game list. GProxy++ highlights supported, "reconnect-ready" games in blue on your LAN screen. Use /game [Name] to target specific private lobbies.
  • Communication: Because you are connecting via LAN mode, standard Battle.net whispers are relayed as chat messages. Use /re to reply to whispers, but be cautious: if a new message arrives while you are typing, the reply may be misdirected.
The default reconnection timeout is 3 minutes, though this is adjustable by the server operator. If the connection isn't restored within this window, the client will drop.

GHost++ 17.0 Custom Build 3.4
Released: March 18, 2010
Download link: https://ghostcb.googlecode.com/files/ghost17.0cb3.4.zip

This build incorporates community-driven patches into the official GHost++ 17.0 codebase. It is an excellent choice if you require specific functionality not present in the vanilla release, though it remains functionally identical to the core GHost++ architecture.

GHost One 1.7.266
Released: March 16, 2010
Download link: https://maxdevlon.com/ghost/GHostOne1.7.266.zip

For administrators who prefer a Graphical User Interface (GUI) over a command-line interface, GHost One serves as a powerful wrapper for GHost++. If running multiple instances, ensure you define unique ports for udp_guiport, udp_cmdport, GUI HTTP port, bot_hostport, and admingame_port to avoid socket conflicts.

GHost Bot Installer 1.4

Created by Magnitoo, this installer simplifies the deployment of the GHost++, GProxy++, and GHostOne suite on Windows systems. It is a convenient way to ensure all dependencies are correctly placed, though it does not currently support Linux or Mac environments.

Dota Mana Bars - Warcraft 3 Manabars

Learn how to use the Dota Mana Bars tool for Warcraft 3. Get practical setup tips, compatibility warnings for Garena and B.Net, and essential usage caveats. Dota Mana Bars is a classic utility designed for Warcraft III that overlays mana bars directly beneath unit health bars. Having spent years playing competitive DotA, I have found this tool to be an essential visual aid, particularly when playing mana-dependent heroes like Anti-Mage or Nerubian Assassin . By tracking opponent mana pools in real-time, you can more effectively time your mana burn abilities and engagement windows. In my experience, this tool functions reliably during LAN games . However, users should exercise caution regarding platform compatibility. Many players have reported that injecting this tool into the game client causes Warcraft to crash when playing on Garena or B.Net . Furthermore, because this utility provides a significant information advantage not present in the base game, many competitive tourn...
