DotA 6.72 Hero Changelogs

This update focused heavily on base stat normalization and clarifying ability interactions. Note that many "Reworked" tags in this patch fundamentally changed how these heroes functioned in lane.

  • Ancient Apparition: Armor reduced from 4 to 2.
  • Axe: Base HP regeneration increased from 0.25 to 1; Battle Hunger rescaled from 15/17/25/33 to 15/21/27/33 damage per second.
  • Bane Elemental: Brain Sap cooldown decreased from 16 to 14; Fiend's Grip now provides vision of the target; Enfeeble now reduces attack damage by a constant amount.
  • Batrider: Armor reduced by 1.
  • Beastmaster: Greater Hawk's invisibility fade time decreased from 8 to 5 seconds; Wild Axes now move at a speed consistent with max range for better short-range targeting; Added Aghanim's Scepter upgrade.
  • Bloodseeker: Bloodbath assist AoE increased from 200 to 225.
  • Bounty Hunter: Base HP regeneration increased from 0.25 to 0.75; Jinada cooldown decreased from 15/12/9/6 to 12/10/8/6.
  • Bristleback: Warpath damage per stack increased from 4/8/12 to 10/15/20.
  • Centaur Warchief: Movement speed increased from 300 to 305; Double Edge cooldown decreased from 12 to 10; Hoof Stomp cooldown decreased from 15 to 13.
  • Chaos Knight: Base strength increased by 3; Chaos Bolt damage improved from 1-200 to 1-200/50-225/75-250/100-275; Added floating text indicator for Chaos Bolt damage.
  • Chen: Test of Faith's secondary teleport ability moved to Holy Persuasion (377809).
  • Clockwerk Goblin: Armor reduced by 1.
  • Crystal Maiden: Freezing Field level 1 manacost decreased from 300 to 200.
  • Dark Seer: Wall of Replica illusion damage improved to 70/80/90%; Added Aghanim's Scepter upgrade with visual effect (339914).
  • Doom Bringer: Doom duration decreased from 14 to 13 seconds (remains 14 with Aghanim's Scepter).
  • Dragon Knight: Breathe Fire damage rescaled from 75/150/225/300 to 90/170/240/300.
  • Drow Ranger: Reverted sight range nerf from 6.68.
  • Earthshaker: Echo Slam initial damage reduced from 165/230/285 to 160/210/270.
  • Enchantress: Aghanim's Impetus range bonus increased from +150 to +165.
  • Faceless Void: Base HP regeneration increased to 0.75; Aghanim's Chronosphere cooldown decreased to 60; Chronosphere now reveals Invisible units; Cast range improved to 600; Time Walk slow now affects all units along the path.

  • Huskar: Burning Spears minimum HP requirement removed (non-lethal); Life Break cast mechanism changed.
  • Icarus (Phoenix): Icarus Dive cooldown decreased to 30; Dive no longer grants spell immunity; Sun Ray damage rescaled to 15/30/45/60 + 4%.
  • Invoker: Casting orbs or Invoke no longer interrupts movement; Base damage reduced by 5; Alacrity now targets mechanical units (1680); Invoke combinations displayed in tooltips.

  • Rooftrellen: Armor reduced by 1; Nature's Guise now grants 10% MS bonus, keeps invisibility for 1s after leaving tree proximity, and cooldown increased to 10/8/6/4; Overgrowth rebalanced; Living Armor reworked; Forest Sentinel replaced with Leech Seed.
  • Sand King: Armor increased by 1.
  • Shadow Priest: Poison Touch damage increased to 8/16/24/32.
  • Shadow Demon: Disruption manacost increased to 120; Disruption cooldown rescaled; Hero model changed.
  • Silencer: Movement speed increased to 300; Curse of the Silent cast range decreased to 800; Glaives of Wisdom cooldown removed; Last Word now muted when stunned, no longer triggers on Spell-Attacks, and steals 1 Intelligence on hero kills.
  • Slardar: Amplify Damage armor reduction increased to 8/12/16.
  • Slark: Strength/Intelligence growth increased; Agility growth reduced; Essence Shift reworked to be permanent on kills; Pounce no longer hits non-hero units and AoE increased to 95.
  • Spirit Breaker: Base HP regeneration increased to 0.75; Greater Bash now grants 15% MS bonus for 3 seconds; Charge of Darkness reworked.
  • Stealth Assassin: Base HP regeneration increased to 0.75; Blink Strike cooldown rescaled; Smoke Screen cast range increased to 425.
  • Sven: Great Cleave AoE increased to 200.
  • Tauren Chieftain: Ancestral Spirit now has a return sub-ability (398706); Cooldown decreased to 16; Cast range increased to 1200.
  • Techies: Aghanim's Remote Mine cast range decreased to 700; Land Mine limit increased to 20; Suicide Squad now grants XP, cooldown rescaled, and death time reduced by 50%; Detonate All removed.
  • Terrorblade: Movement speed increased to 310; Sunder HP limit now applies to self, cooldown rescaled; Metamorphosis reworked; Conjure Image replaced with Zeal; Soul Steal replaced with Reflection.
  • Tidehunter: Anchor Smash reworked.
  • Tinker: Heat Seeking Missile now hits 2 units at all levels.
  • Tiny: Tossed allied units no longer take damage.
  • Troll Warlord: Cast point reduced; Berserker Rage transformation time removed; Blind replaced with Whirling Axes.
  • Tuskarr: Ice Shards now kills trees; Snowball speed no longer scales with allies inside.

  • Warlock: Fatal Bonds link count increased to 3/4/5/6; Range increased to 800; Upheaval cooldown decreased to 50.
  • Windrunner: Shackleshot cooldown increased to 12 seconds.

  • Ancient Janggo of Endurance: Charges can be refreshed via recipe.
  • Courier: Added cooldown to recipe buying; Minimap indicator on death; Resume Delivery ability added (1680).
  • Assault Cuirass: Recipe cost decreased to 1300.
  • Bloodstone: Starts with 5 charges; Cannot be disassembled.
  • Boots of Travel: Double-click teleports to fountain; Towers/creeps no longer stop actions when targeted.
  • Buriza Do Kyanon: Critical strike chance increased to 25%.
  • Crystalys: Critical strike chance increased to 20%.
  • Diffusal Blade: Purge cooldown decreased to 8; Now removes Ghost Scepter.
  • Ethereal Blade: Slow increased to 60%; Can be disassembled (404895).
  • Force Staff: Cannot push units out of Chronosphere.
  • Gem of True Sight: Stock cooldown increased to 8 minutes.
  • Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse: Mana regeneration decreased to 150%.
  • Hand of Midas: Now grants constant gold; Gold is reliable; Manacost removed.
  • Healing Salve: Stock cooldown removed.
  • Heart of Tarrasque: Melee hero regen activates after 4 seconds of player damage.
  • Khadgar's Pipe of Insight: Barrier duration increased to 10 seconds.
  • Lothar's Edge: Wind Walk bonus damage increased to 150.
  • Maelstrom: Recipe cost decreased to 600 (417406).
  • Mjollnir: Recipe cost increased to 600; IAS bonus increased to 80.
  • Necronomicon: Warrior Last Will damage rescaled; Archer aura AoE increased to 900.
  • Orb of Venom: Price decreased to 450.
  • Orchid Malevolence: Soul Burn damage recurrence increased to 25%.
  • Quelling Blade: Can be sold.
  • Refresher Orb: Cooldown decreased to 160.
  • Ring of Basilius: No longer interrupts hero when toggled.
  • Sange / Sange and Yasha: Maim no longer an Orb effect.
  • Smoke of Deceit: Dispel AoE increased to 950; Stock cooldown increased to 12 minutes.
  • Stygian Desolator: Corruption works on buildings.
  • Urn of Shadows: Double-click self-casts.
  • New Item: Veil of Discord added to Arcane Sanctum.

General Improvements and Fixes

Gameplay stability was a major focus, including the addition of the -stats command to consolidate hero-specific information and various UI improvements for observer scoreboards.
