In God of War 3, the 10 Godly Possessions serve as powerful artifacts that act as "cheats" for subsequent playthroughs. Based on my experience completing the game, these items are essential for players looking to experiment with Kratos' full potential. You can toggle these effects on or off in the Items Menu, but only AFTER BEATING THE GAME at least once.
Important Note on Trophies: Activating any Godly Possession will immediately disable Trophies for that entire playthrough. Even if you turn the possession off later, the restriction remains active for that save file.
Godly Possession Effects
- Zeus' Eagle - Grants Infinite Rage of Sparta.
- Hades' Helm - Instantly maxes out Health, Magic, and Item Meters.
- Helios' Shield - Increases the Hits Counter by 3 times for every strike.
- Hermes' Coin - Collect 10 times the standard amount of Red Orbs.
- Hercules' Shoulder Guard - Increases damage taken by a third (a challenge modifier).
- Poseidon's Conch Shell - Grants Infinite Magic.
- Aphrodite's Garter - Allows continued use of Athena's Blades (the intro weapon). While active, switching to another weapon enables the Combat Grapple.
- Hephaestus' Ring - Automatically win all Context Sensitive Attacks ("Quick Time Events").
- Daedalus' Schematics - Grants Infinite item use.
- Hera's Chalice - Causes the Health Meter to slowly drain over time, though it will never completely empty.
How to Activate Cheats
To use these items, start a new game on the same difficulty level or lower than your completed save. Access the Items Menu (Select button), then navigate to the page displaying your collection of Minotaur Horns and Gorgon Eyes. From there, you can highlight a Godly Possession and toggle it on. Note that while the effects are active, you must still progress through the story to unlock specific weapons; the possessions do not grant fully upgraded gear from the start.

Location Guide for All 10 Godly Possessions
Zeus' Eagle: Located in the Heart of Gaia. When you are in front of the heart, climb the vines up and to the right to find the artifact.
Hades' Helm: After defeating Hades, dive into the River Styx and swim to the very bottom to retrieve the helm.
Helios' Shield: Immediately after defeating Helios, search the ground just to the right of his corpse.
Hermes' Coin: After hitching a ride on the boulder launched from the catapult, search the right side of the massive statue's decapitated head.
Hercules' Shoulder Guard: After the battle with Hercules, dive beneath his floating corpse in the water to find the guard.
Poseidon's Conch Shell: Before exiting the Poseidon Princess's chamber, search the pillows on the right side of the room.
Aphrodite's Garter: In Aphrodite's chamber, look behind the bed. You may see a glint of light on a platform. Double-jump and float to the secret area behind the bed to collect it.
Hephaestus' Ring: After defeating Hephaestus, search the far left side of the arena near the blocked doorway that previously led to Tartarus.
Daedalus' Schematics: This requires a puzzle solution in Daedalus' workshop. Pull the lever on the right, shoot the gate with the ballista, and fire the harpoon through the portal. Use the Boots of Hermes to run up the wall into the gold portal. Pull the lever there, return to the floor, and use the ballista to break the links on the lowered chests. The schematics are inside one of the chests.
Hera's Chalice: After the cutscene with Hera at the maze entrance, save your game. Search the ground just to the left of the save point; a short cutscene will trigger when Kratos picks it up.
