Technical Guide: Importing SC2 Cache Files
In our testing of the StarCraft 2 beta, we have found that manually managing cache files is often the most reliable way to ensure compatibility between different patches. Below are the verified cache files required for stable performance on specific builds.
Installation Directory Path
To import these files, you must move them into the specific local application data folder used by the Battle.net client. Note that "AppData" and "Local Settings" are hidden folders by default; ensure your folder options are set to "Show hidden files, folders, and drives."
Windows 7 / Vista:
C:\Users\Your_Username\AppData\Local\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache
Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache
Watching StarCraft 2 Replays (Patch 10 and Newer)
Since the release of Patch 10, the community has relied on specialized tools to bypass the online authentication requirements for viewing replays and testing skirmish maps. Based on our hands-on use, StarCrack Allin1 remains a highly effective automated solution.
This utility allows you to launch the SC2 beta offline, bypass the need for active CD-keys, and successfully load skirmish battles or legacy replays that may otherwise be locked by the client.
