DotA 6.70 AI Development Roadmap & Updates

Based on our hands-on testing of the latest builds, the AITeam has focused heavily on porting the complex mechanics of newer heroes into the AI logic. Here is the official development timeline:

  • December 30, 2010: The AITeam began addressing critical pathing and ability bugs found in the initial 6.70 release. A revision was scheduled for January to stabilize the environment.
  • March 19, 2011: Integration of the final 6.69c balance changes was completed. This update improved bot decision-making regarding itemization and lane presence.
  • April 13, 2011: DotA 6.70c AI was officially released, bringing the AI map closer to parity with the official IceFrog competitive versions.
  • April 14, 2011: DotA 6.70c AI Rev2 was deployed. This specific revision is highly recommended as it fixes a major bug where human players using Phoenix would trigger an automatic Super Nova immediately after using Icarus Dive at low HP.
