I am currently deep into the development cycle for MiniDotA version 1.04. After playtesting the current meta, I’ve identified several key areas where mechanical adjustments will improve the flow of the game. My focus for this update is to refine the pacing of leveling and ensure that individual hero matchups feel more rewarding.
Here are the primary changes currently being implemented and tested:
- Mapwide experience gain: I am adjusting the distribution of experience to be more consistent across the map, paired with a slight reduction in overall experience gain to prevent runaway leveling.
- Shopping distance: Increased the interaction radius for shops to reduce unnecessary movement downtime.
- Balance adjustments: I am actively tuning the performance of Gorelord, Mindflayer, Mindflayer Ancient, Child of Loki, and Manifestation to ensure they remain competitive without dominating the field.
I am also excited to share that a new hero, Dawneyes the Spiritmender, is currently in development. I have completed approximately 50% of the implementation. While I am keeping most of the kit under wraps, I want to highlight one of the core mechanics I am currently refining:
Ghost Evasion
This passive ability provides a 15% chance when taking damage to gain the “ghost” status for 1/2/3/4 seconds. Unlike standard invisibility, the “ghost” ability is a unique state that allows the hero to remain hidden even while attacking, creating new tactical opportunities for positioning.
