Stolen DotA AI Beta , PleaseBugMeNot Demotivated

Addressing the impact of content theft on DotA AI development, specifically the unauthorized distribution of PleaseBugMeNot's 6.68 AI BETA work. It is deeply discouraging to witness the prevalence of content theft within the gaming community. A recent incident involving the unauthorized redistribution of PleaseBugMeNot’s work on the 6.68 AI BETA highlights a significant issue: when developers are exploited, it directly impacts the longevity and quality of the projects they maintain. This situation has understandably left the developer demotivated, casting doubt on the future development of DotA AI. To understand the gravity of this situation, we must look at the developer's own perspective regarding the integrity of his work: "Hello, again. I stood up from bed today and what i see... my work on some shitty copy-paste blog. Wtf? Too bad the version they got is too old... it doesn`t even have the -alldagons mode. The bots are with broken item builds and i bet all 6...

Data Entry for Heroes and Skills

Join Harreke’s AI project team. Help with data entry for 400+ DOTA skills using our custom codebase. Technical training provided. Managing a complex AI project for DOTA requires precision and consistency, especially when dealing with the underlying logic of hero abilities. As the lead developer, I have spent significant time refining our data entry framework to ensure the AI behaves predictably and effectively during gameplay. However, due to current project demands and the departure of previous team members, I am looking for contributors to assist with the critical task of skill data entry. I have recently upgraded our data entry functions and codebase to improve modularity and performance. Because of these structural changes, all existing skill data must be redefined to align with the new architecture. Currently, I am handling the entry for over 400 skills solo. While I am committed to the project, this workload is substantial and will likely take several months to complete with...

Dota 2 has long inspired a vibrant community of creators who translate complex in-game hero designs into physical reality. As someone who has spent years following the evolution of gaming culture and the technical challenges of costume fabrication, I find that successful Dota cosplay requires a deep understanding of both the game's lore and the material science behind prop-making. The following collection highlights early examples of Dota-inspired character portrayals. When evaluating these costumes, it is important to consider the complexity of translating digital assets—often featuring intricate textures and non-human proportions—into wearable garments. Achieving an accurate look requires a balance of textile selection, wig styling, and often, significant prop engineering to mimic the iconic items and weapons found with...

Progress on miniDotA 1.04

Get the latest on MiniDotA 1.04 development, including balance updates for Gorelord and Mindflayer, plus a preview of Spiritmender. I am currently deep into the development cycle for MiniDotA version 1.04. After playtesting the current meta, I’ve identified several key areas where mechanical adjustments will improve the flow of the game. My focus for this update is to refine the pacing of leveling and ensure that individual hero matchups feel more rewarding. Here are the primary changes currently being implemented and tested: Mapwide experience gain: I am adjusting the distribution of experience to be more consistent across the map, paired with a slight reduction in overall experience gain to prevent runaway leveling. Shopping distance: Increased the interaction radius for shops to reduce unnecessary movement downtime. Balance adjustments: I am actively tuning the performance of Gorelord, Mindflayer, Mindflayer Ancient, Child of Loki, and Manifestation to ensure...
