Legends of DotA 6.74c v5e Map, commonly referred to as LoD, is a specialized modification for the classic Warcraft III DotA map. In my experience playing and testing various custom maps, LoD stands out for its deep customization, allowing players to draft skills from the entire hero pool to create unique ability sets. While the creative freedom is immense, it requires a solid understanding of the underlying balance changes to remain competitive.

The core appeal is theory-crafting. For example, stacking range-enhancing passives like Sniper’s Take Aim and Lanaya’s Psi Blades can create a hero with massive attack range. However, keep in mind that with great power comes the need for efficient input management. Because you are often managing non-standard ability sets, I strongly recommend using AHT - AucT's Hotkey Tool. It is the industry standard for this mod, as it allows you to map multiple spells to custom hotkeys, preventing the clunky interface issues that arise when using default keybinds for custom skill layouts. Modes, Balance & Commands

For a standard competitive experience, -SD is the recommended mode. Use the following commands to configure your draft:
  • -AP (All Pick)
  • -AR (All Random)
  • -SD (Single Draft)
  • -MD (Mirror Draft)

Additional modifiers:
  • -bo Balance Off
  • -d2/d3/d4/d5: Provides a choice of 20, 30, 40, or 50 heroes respectively.
  • -s5: Allows you to pick 5 skills.
  • -s6: Allows you to pick 6 skills (1 extra ultimate and 1 extra normal ability).
  • -ra: Random Abilities (extra slots filled randomly).
  • -fn: Fast Neutrals (early spawn).
  • -ss: See Skills (view enemy draft).
  • -ab: Anti Backdoor.
  • -ul: Unlimited Level.
  • -os: One Skill (unique picks only).
  • -ls: Limit Skills (max 2 passives and 2 skills per hero).

Technical Balance Adjustments
The developer, Lordshinjo, implemented specific balance tweaks to prevent broken interactions in LoD v5e:
  • Last Word silence duration: 0.75/1/1.25/1.5s.
  • Multicast: Proc chances reduced for x2, x3, and x4 instances.
  • Rearm: Includes a 15/10/5s hidden cooldown to prevent infinite chaining.
  • Feast: Capped at 1/2/3/4% HP for ranged heroes.
  • Greater Bash: 10% proc chance for ranged heroes.
  • Dispersion: 6/8/10/12% damage reduction for STR heroes.
  • Essence Shift: 50% effectiveness for ranged heroes.
  • Cooldown restriction: Spells with ≤3s cooldowns will not trigger proc-based passives like Aftershock or Fiery Soul.
