Update:
Icefrog has released Dota 6.79c, serving as the second patch update for the 6.79 series to address minor stability issues.
Following an extensive testing phase involving 8 beta map iterations, the official DotA 6.79b map is now available. Having tracked the development of this series closely, it is clear that this release focuses heavily on competitive integrity and hero utility adjustments.
The DotA community has anticipated this release, which introduces significant balance refinements. My hands-on testing confirms that heroes such as Bloodseeker, Slark, and Dazzle have received targeted adjustments that fundamentally shift their viability in high-level play.
A critical technical change in this version involves the Area of Effect (AoE) mechanics: "Non-Ancient Neutrals now split XP with all heroes in the AoE instead of just the team that killed them." This change necessitates a more strategic approach to jungle farming and lane support positioning.
As with previous iterations, the traditional DotA 6.x9 secret quest remains included for players to discover.
