If you are looking to complete the hidden quest in DotA 6.69, follow these hands-on instructions. Having played through this specific version, I can confirm that this side quest requires precise coordination and specific item builds to execute successfully.
UPDATE: DotA 6.70 was finally released.
Locations of the DotA 6.69 secret runes
Based on my experience navigating the map, these runes are tucked away in specific environmental pockets. You will need to scout these areas thoroughly:
Secret Rune 1: There's an invisible killable icefrog near the top rune.
Secret Rune 2: Located near the prerune, plus another near the sent bot pullable camp.
Secret Rune 3: At the Sentinel spawn point, bottom lane, adjacent to the water/waterfall.
Secret Rune 4: Within the Sentinel base, tucked among the trees next to the Hunter's Hall.
Secret Rune 5: On the Sentinel mid lane, behind the statue near the mid-leveled creeps.
Secret Rune 6: Positioned behind the creeps near the fifth rune location.
Secret Rune 7: Scourge bottom lane, slightly to the left of the creep spawn point.
Secret Rune 8: Where the Scourge lower-level creeps spawn.
Update: Dota 6.69b map was released.
To complete the mission, you must "catch them all." There are 8 runes total that must be destroyed to trigger the next phase.
Destroy the Runes
To initiate the side quest, you must first destroy the PreRune and the two additional runes scattered across the map.
• The PreRune is located in the middle of the map near the Top rune.
• Destroy both remaining runes. The first is found near the Scourge top 2nd tower, and the second is near the Sentinel bottom 1st tower.

• After destroying the runes, you must locate and kill the IceFrogs.
Important Technical Note: IceFrogs are invisible and immune to standard physical attacks. To damage them, you must equip a Gem of True Sight to reveal them and use Dagon to deal the necessary magical burst damage.
- Refer to the mini-map images below to track the IceFrog locations:

• Once you have successfully eliminated the 9-10 IceFrogs, the Phoenix boss (Icarus) will spawn in the bottom right corner of the map.
Kill the Phoenix
To defeat the Phoenix, I recommend using Naix with a full 6-slot inventory. Enabling "-wtf" mode is highly suggested for this encounter, as the boss has significant health and damage output.
What does Icarus, the Phoenix drop when you kill it?
Upon defeat, the Phoenix drops the Ancient Medallion, which grants the user evasion and the ability to spawn 9 illusions upon activation.
